Friends of Sunera Foundation
20 Elizabeth Court

Don't forget to include a copy of our donation form and, if you are eligible, the Gift Aid form.

If you are a UK taxpayer, whatever kind of donation you make, please include a completed Gift Aid Declaration Form and your donation will be increased by 25p for each pound you donate.

All donations, big or small are very welcome and every penny counts as each pound buys many rupees. For example, £140 keeps one of Sunera's workshops going for a whole month.

Other ways to help

Many of the shops where you shop online are registered at easyfundraising, and if you shop via this site they donate a percentage of what you spend to a charity of your choice at no extra cost to you. It is very simple to do and we urge you to consider setting it up.

Go to and register yourself, selecting FSF as your charity from the dropdown menu. (Tip: type €˜"Sunera"™ in the search box.)  Create a password.  Then, whenever you shop online, start at the easyfundraising website, and access your chosen retailers from there.

Please join and help FSF even more!  The amount donated to FSF via Easyfundraising is gradually increasing. So far nearly £900 has been raised over the years in this way.We are very grateful to everyone who uses this fundraising device: it is very easy, it costs you nothing and helps FSF a lot!

Raise funds yourself

Some Friends of Sunera have undertaken fundraising activities and made generous donations from the proceeds.  The events they have organised have ranged from a sponsored cycle ride from Hove to Land”s End to a pop music gig.  Trustee Alison Skilbeck ran a weekend festival of one-person shows and with her husband, Tim Hardy, has given performances of “Chosen Words”, a collection of poetry and prose.  There have been classical music concerts in Oxford and London. Barbara Flynn and Rashantha Devanesan have held sales of their beautiful hand-made jewellery.  And patron Victoria Brignell achieved a feat of memory when she performed a monologue before an enthusiastic audience.

Where your money goes

Although Sunera Foundation has had marked success in obtaining funding for its workshops and performances, both in Sri Lanka and internationally, like many charitable organisations it can find it difficult to fund 'core' activities -€”- just running an office and financial systems, for example €”-- even though none of the other work could happen without this basic infrastructure. It also attaches great importance to training workshop leaders and continuing to enhance their skills. FSF aims to help with these essential, if less glamorous, costs.

See the Where does your money go? page for a detailed breakdown of grants to date.
